Owetell exists for the familiar mess after a shared meal, grocery run, flat expense, or trip: someone paid, everyone remembers a different split, and the group needs a clear answer later.

Owetell is a React and Firebase web app for shared expense rooms. It tracks members, expenses, split details, planner items, and settlement payments while keeping private room data behind sign-in.

the principle

The app is designed offline first. A phone should still be useful when reception drops, and the ledger should sync back cleanly when the connection returns.

the audience

Owetell is for small friend groups, roommates, travel groups, and anyone who wants expense splitting without a bloated finance dashboard.
