Terms of use

The short version

  • Owetell is free and run by one person, with no guarantee it will always be available.
  • If I ever start charging, you will get notice first and nothing you already use will be charged without your agreement.
  • It records expenses. It does not move money or check that entries are correct.
  • You own what you add. Only invite people who should see a room.

Who you are dealing with

Owetell is provided by one independent developer in Sydney, Australia ("I", "me"), not by a company. Contact: seishun.code@gmail.com. By using Owetell you agree to these terms.

Your account

Give accurate details and keep your password safe. You are responsible for what happens through your account. You need to be at least 13 to use Owetell.

Your content

You own what you add. You let me store, sync and show it to the members of the rooms you share it with, only to run Owetell.

Only add information you are allowed to share, and only invite people who should see a room.

Money and balances

Owetell records expenses and calculates balances. It does not move money, provide financial services, guarantee that anyone pays, or check that entries are correct. You and your room members decide how to settle.

Fair use

Do not try to access other people’s rooms, bypass security rules, overload or scrape the service, upload malicious content, or use Owetell to harass or deceive anyone. I may suspend accounts that do.

Availability

Owetell is free and maintained by one person. I try to keep it running and your data safe, but I cannot promise it will always be available or free of bugs. I may change or stop features. If I ever shut Owetell down, I will give reasonable notice so you can export your data.

Owetell is free today. If I ever introduce a charge, I will tell you in the app and by email at least 30 days before it starts. Nothing you already use will be charged unless you agree to it.

Other services

Owetell relies on Google Firebase, Google sign-in and Vercel. Those services have their own terms.

Liability

Owetell is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, I am not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost data, or disputes between room members about money.

Ending use

You can stop using Owetell and delete your account from your profile at any time. I may close accounts that break these terms.

Changes

If these terms change in a way that matters, I will update the date above and mention it in the app.
